Where can I find a list of names to decide who to walk for?
You will need to research the list of names we prepared and determine who you want to walk for. The list can be found here.
How much does it cost?
The Stake is asking participants to contribute $150 per person towards the cost of the trek, with a maximum cost of $300 per family. This will not cover all the costs of the trek, but will cover a portion of the costs. The Great Falls Stake will subsidize the remaining costs of the activity.
When must the payment be made?
We are very sensitive to the financial concerns of the families in our stake, and have recently been made aware of the challenges of having payment for trek due by April 6th. Many of the youth will be earning money for trek and may not have ample time or the opportunity with spring earning projects to make that deadline. Also, some of the wards and branches are planning fund raisers to help with the cost, but will not be completed by that date. We have postponed the registration fee due date until late May, but please don't forget to register by May 28th.
I will graduate this year, and will turn 18 before the trek. Can I still participate as a youth?
Yes. Any high school student or recently graduated high school student (who graduates this year), is welcome to attend as a youth (regardless of their age). You will not be excluded because you turned 18 before the trek.
Can I invite friends, cousins, or others to come on the trek with me?
We have a limited number of bus seats available for transporting trek attendees (165 seats), and youth members of our stake have first priority for those seats. Discretion should be exercised here, as the trek is not designed to be an "adventure". The purpose of the event is extremely spiritual... so invited non-member friends must be adequately prepared for that type of atmosphere, and caution should be taken to limit invitations to those who possess the ability to add to that spirit, not detract from it. Additionally, invitees will most likely not be grouped in the same "family" as the person that invited them. Once we know how many youth plan to attend the trek, we may be able to open up more bus seats to others... but we cannot know how many seats may open up at this time.
Please email us with your questions. We will respond directly to you, but will also add the answers here if they may pertain to others as well.
