Each youth should plan to walk for a pioneer. This will help them to see the trek challenge through the eyes of those who actually did it. We have listed some of the better documented Pioneers below. Please plan to research these pioneer's stories and decide which one you will walk for. You may also choose names that are not listed here, but please limit your selection to someone from one of the following five companies (Martin Handcart Company, Willie Handcart Company, Hodgett Wagon Company, Hunt Wagon Company, or the Rescue Company). Please let us know which name you choose so we can prepare bios for your lanyard. Once you have chosen the name you want to walk for, just go back, click the Register Now button, then the Registration Form, and then enter your name and you will see a field lower on the page that asks for the name of the pioneer you plan to walk for. Fill it in, scroll down, and click the "Submit" button. You don't need to fill out all the other fields if you have already registered.
